The Old Lodge has 28 rooms in total, 20 in the main building and 8 standard rooms in a separate building, The Old Lodgings, which is located about 100 meters down the main road from The Old Lodge. The Old Lodgings serves as an overflow building to The Old Lodge. This building can also be hired out separately for golf parties, shooting parties and as a holiday home. The Old Lodgings has its own kitchenette, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffee machine complete with crockery and utensils. A large lounge with a TV makes this an ideal place for socialising. Please note due to the location of The Old Lodgings, parking is only available at The Old Lodge.
We have a bedroom that may be suitable for guests with mobility issues and a few ground floor bedrooms in the main building. Our rooms have been individually designed and some have featured bathrooms and many with four-poster beds. All rooms are en-suite and have hair dryers, tea, coffee making facilities and flat screen televisions.
Room tariffs in The Old Lodge are inclusive of breakfast, both full English and continental. We offer a single occupancy rate on all our rooms. We require a £40 non-refundable deposit on booking. Extra adults can be added at a charge of £35 pp per night, children at £20 pp per night (up to the age of 14), infants 0-2 years no charge. We are able to accept well-behaved dogs in three of our ground floor rooms at a supplement of £15 per dog per night. Please contact reservations regarding our terms and conditions prior to booking with your pet. The Old Lodge is a Grade II listed building, hence we do not have elevators.
The Old Lodge is a stunning Tudor building, originally built in 1604, which has been sensitively renovated and now functions as a 20 bedroom guest accommodation facility. Because of its age, the building is fairly quirky, yet has good access, and the staff are well trained and keen to extend a warm welcome to all visitors.

Malton has a good public transport network. The bus and train stations are each about 5-10 minutes walk away, and there are a number of local taxi firms.
Malton the town centre is around 5 minutes walk away, and has a wide range of shops and retail outlets, including a cinema, and a number of pubs and cafes.
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities for The Old Lodge.
The Old Lodge has a large flat car park with no marked car parking spaces.
Staff are happy to assist guests into The Old Lodge and all guests are offered assistance with luggage.
Well behaved dogs are permitted at The Old Lodge and welcome to stay over in certain rooms. Guide dogs are most welcome. Dogs are not permitted in the dining room and also in the bar whilst food is being served.
Main Entrance and Reception to the Lodge
There is one small step down into the entrance foyer (about 2 -3 inches) however, we have a removable ramp that is stored behind the front door at all times. The door is 3 feet wide, and opens into the reception (push) once inside, all of the downstairs is on one level, and the lighting is good throughout.
The entrance desk is immediately in front of you.
Staff will assist with completing registration forms and orientation tours if necessary.
Seating is available in reception.
There is an entrance to the bar directly in front of you, past the reception desk, and an entrance to the lounge area to your right.
The toilets and main dining area are past the reception desk and to your left. We have three toilets in the ladies toilet, one of which has grab rails and is suitable for access by a reduced mobility guest, but is not suitable for a wheelchair a user with no mobility. The gent’s toilet is spacious and accessible to guests with reduced mobility, but is not appropriate for a wheelchair user with no mobility.
Immediately to your right as you enter the foyer are the stairs leading up to the rooms.
There are no rugs or other trip hazards, but there are some slightly uneven surfaces at the entrance to the bar and also the entrance to the ceremonies room, because of the age of the floors.
Main entrance and access to The Old Lodgings:
Access to The Old, Lodgings has three external steps and one internal step. Due to how the building is situated, it has not been possible to build a disabled access ramp.
Public areas at The Old Lodge -
WC The toilets are situated through reception, the ladies on the left, and the gents on the right. The toilet doors are 2 foot 6 wide, and although the toilets do not have the full disabled access they are all on one level, spacious and equipped with grab rails in one stall. There is a waist high baby changing facility in the ladies’ toilet.
Public Areas at The Lodge- General (Internal)
The main restaurant is downstairs, as is the lounge, the bar and the ceremonies room. Some of the doorways are 2 ft 6 inches wide, and this is difficult to remedy, because the building is Grade 2 listed.
There is no public telephone, however assistance will be given with making calls if requested.
There is a short pile carpet laid throughout the ground floor and the bar, which is part wood floor and part carpet. The dining the room has a wood floor. Doors are solid, and some are held open with fire alarm sensitive devices.
Baby changing facilities are available.
Good access is available to the garden through the bar or the ceremonies room.
Restaurant/Dining Room, Bar, and Lounges
The main restaurant, and second restaurant (ceremonies room) and also the bar are all situated on the ground floor, and are all on one level, with no steps.
All of our tables can easily accommodate a wheelchair (please state when booking).
There is good lighting available throughout.
Our menus are written in an easy to read font, and staff are happy to read them to you on request.
Special diets can be catered for on request.
A laundry/dry cleaning service is available on request.
Bedrooms at The Old Lodge:
We have one double bedroom, room 10, with 3-foot wide doors on both the entrance and bathroom. It is necessary for guests with reduced mobility to go out of The Old Lodge to access this bedroom.
Room 11 is opposite room 10, and this double room is suitable for clients with reduced mobility, however the shower is over the bath and there are no grab rails in the bathroom.
Room 1 is a double room that is suitable for guests with reduced mobility. It is accessible only from the car park, and is all on one level, with no steps, but has a standard size doorway.
Room 2 is a double room that may be suitable for some guests with reduced mobility, as it is on the ground floor, but there are four normal sized steps from the bedroom into the bathroom.
The remainder of our rooms are up at least one flight of stairs. Some of the stairs are narrow and of unusual sizes or depth, due to the age of the building. We have special door hangers for guests with hearing impairment, should it be necessary to evacuate.
All our rooms have flat screen TV.

All rooms have domestic kettles and room service is available. Guide dogs and well-behaved dogs are welcome in certain rooms.

Grounds and Gardens
To the rear of The Old Lodge we have a large, very well maintained, relatively flat garden, the most part of which is lawn. There are many huge and ancient trees in the garden.
The garden is accessible from the bar, the ceremonies room, and restaurant or from the car park. There are no steps or ramps that must be negotiated. There is a selection of garden furniture in the garden, and a flagged patio area immediately outside the door that exits from the bar area.
Meals may be eaten in the Garden if guests wish. There are seats strategically located around the garden to allow guests to take rests when exploring.
We are investing in the future by continuing to maintain and refurbish The Old Lodge as needed to keep everything at a continuously high standard.
